Covergirl has been around for as long as I can remember. You can pick it up in practically every drugstore, but from what I know, they never have had a stand-alone store before their flagship that opened up last month. Covergirl is a huge giant in the beauty industry and has been really stepping up their game when it comes to the quality of their products, but even more so, they made the huge step to become Cruelty-Free, which is incredible and I hope to see more brands do the same.
I recently made the trip to Covergirl’s new flagship store with one of my Youtuber friends, Esther! I am so excited to share my experience with you. I was initially going to feature the flagship in something else ( which I still am), but after going, I knew it deserved its own post! It’s right in the heart of Time Square, which is a super fun location to be in. This post is not sponsored. Before we talk about my experience, be sure to check out Esther Vlog to see what the store is like IRL.
As soon as I entered the store, I was greeted by everyone who worked there. I took some time to get a lay of the land, and then determine what exactly I was looking for. A woman named Niva helped us out, and I highly recommend asking for her, if you choose to go. First off, her makeup look was stunning and secondly, she was able to color match both Esther and I in less than 10 minutes, which was incredible. She asked what I was looking for and knew exactly what to suggest. I firmly believe that she was truly an expert on the brand. She also gave us her honest opinions and recommended products that best suited us.
Since Covergirl is a drugstore brand, you can’t really swatch or test the products in your everyday setting, but at the flagship, you can literally test everything! They even had products that hadn’t launched yet (now they have, hello Covergirl Active Range) for you to play with.
As we wondered upstairs, we found a ton more exclusive products and merchandise! There was even an area, where you could get a lipstick or makeup bag customized, which looked super fun. There was also a machine upstairs that allowed you to virtually try on countless products, which made for a fun time.
Naturally, there was a ton of fun photo opportunities at the store, including a photo booth, where you could create your own video/ gif-like thing. There was also a spot where you could take some ring light inspired photos. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience, and I highly recommend checking it out, the next time you are in the Times Square area. We’re not done yet, below is my haul!

I know you guys love a good haul, I figured I would share with you what I picked up! Not only did I get a couple of wonderful items, but the Covergirl team also threw in some gifts that come with purchase!
The first item, I picked up the brand new Active foundation in the shade 825/ buff beige. I’ve been into more dewy skin lately, and I found that this was an excellent choice for a natural finish product.
I picked up a metallic lipstick in the shade Getaway. I swatched it and fell in love with it. Niva did a great job of helping me find a perfect shade.
I was so excited about their full-spectrum range, but I haven’t spotted it anywhere yet, so I knew I needed it. I picked up one of the eyeshadow palettes in the shade: Zodiac.
Last but least, I purchased one of their mugs. I wanted something exclusive to the shop and this kind of reminded me of my blog logo.
So as you guys know, I love Katy Perry and have purchased almost every piece from her Katy Kat collection with Covergirl. A while back, she launched two eyeshadows palettes, and I searched for months and months to find them, but I never could find them. I was heartbroken, my online order had even been canceled by Covergirl. Lucky for me… as I told Niva my sad story about how much I wanted them but could never find them, she brought them out to me, and I basically cried. Turns out, they are offering them as free gifts at the flagship. Not only did I get both palettes, but I also got three free glitters and even a lip gloss/glitter combo. Safe to say, I was a happy camper.
