I know you guys have heard me go on and on about Madison but if you follow me on other social media platforms, you know my other go-to guru is Laura Lee. She’s crazy, entertaining and a great teacher. TBH the reason why my eye shadow looks decent is because she single-handily taught me how to blend. I love her honest reviews and I love to see her test out weird products, so as soon as I found out that my fave was launching a makeup line, I knew I needed everything. The first thing she launched in her own line is her eye shadow palette named “Cat’s Pajamas”. Like Laura, I love warm tones, so this item was a must-have on my list. I refreshed my page as early as an hour before she launched it because I wanted to make sure I got it. So let’s talk Cat Pajama’s.
This packaging was so lovely. I found it interested that she used a floral rose pattern at the exterior box but once it was opened up, the palette is covered in glitter. The rose pattern matches the interior palette. I love the size of the mirror in this palette as well because it’s perfect for your eyes. I also love how the palette has the color names listed on it. I hate it when the colors are named but not labeled, like girl how the heck am I supposed to know you’re talking about the shade “Cray Cray” without you labeling the shade that.
Laura’s palette is full of some clever names such as; “Oddball” ,”Redonkulus” and so much more. I shared a close-up below, so you could read all of the names.
Left to Right (Top Row): Okie Dokie, Scatter Brain, Bomb Diggity, Cray Cray and Redonkulus.
(Bottom Row): Quirky, Kooky, In One Ear, Out The Other and Odd Ball.
Since I love Laura, I am going to be super picky with the interior, my palette was a tiny bit dirty, it looked as if the black shadow and the other side had stained the interior, but it was hardly noticeable but now I pointed it out, I know it’s all you’ll see.
These shades are lovely but they are nothing innovative and new, which is a bit disappointing but I still love the shades. I am huge sucker for warm-tones and every day shades. There are a few shades that look super similar when you look at photos but in real life but as you can see they are all a tad bit different. Bomb Diggity is very similar to Cray Cray, Quirky is similar to Out the Other and Kooky is similar to In One Ear. When switched they look like this:
The product is super long-lasting and survived rain and me running around New York City. All of these shades are extremely pigmented and some are designed to be wet shades, which means you should foil the shadows. Even if you don’t want to foil the wet shadows, they’re still rather pigmented and long lasting. In regards to fall out, these shadows have a bit. Laura has mentioned in her previous videos, a little fallout is good because it really allows you to pick up the pigment on your brush. Too little fallout doesn’t allow you to really pick up color. I was pleased with the bit of fallout from these shadows. I have to say that ultimately my favorite shade is “Bomb Diggity” because I’m a sucker for transition shades!
Overall, I am extremely happy with the product and I cannot wait to see what else Laura is creating. I’ll be stalking her social media for her next launch.
