I am someone who thrives in organized chaos. My desk is perfect example of that, as you can see. I’m always at my desk, so things get piled up easily and I’m so busy running around, I don’t get a chance to really clean it off. Since my desk is full of memories from college and office supplies; it’s extremely busy and all my decorations make it hard to focus. So more often then not, I move to another room and create my post over there. Since it’s late spring/early summer, I think it’s about time to give my desk a makeover. I apologize in advance to all of my Neat-freak friends about the image I’m about to reveal…😳
Sorry. Not Sorry.
This mini-makeover took me about an hour to finish and man, am I proud. I am super happy with my room’s new makeover. I am someone who loves to look back at all of their crazy adventures, so when Printiki approached me about working together I was so excited because it allowed me to print and share my memories with anyone who steps foot into my space and I love to share my stories and memories with everyone. Ever since I was a little girl, I was obsessed with taking photos, there is just something beautiful about the little moments being captured forever. So then it hit me, to simplify my desk but still keep my personal flair these photo prints were the perfect opportunity to spring clean my desk!
I’m sure as you look at the photos below, you will see some familiar faces. I am a firm believer in vision boards, so my photo collage is essentially a vision board. Everyone in these photos below I have met and they have deeply impacted me in many ways. There are plenty of other influencers on this who are not included because I have not met them. I’ve been extremely blessed in past 2 years, that I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many incredible people and influencers. I did not include certain people on here because I have a feeling you’re getting tired of me ranting about my love for Retro-Flame. Ironically, I did not print an image of her for this board.
What do you guys think of my cleaner desk?
Meet some of my biggest inspirations below:
Starting from the top left corner:
My Grandmother: When I was little I always used to play with her makeup and she taught me about the world of beauty. She also loves to travel and go on adventures with me. Together we’ve been to Alaska and well as England. She inspires me everyday and I am so lucky to have her in my life.
Sally’s Baking Addiction AKA Sally McKenney: Sally was the first blogger I started to really follow. She inspired me to create my own blog and to live a life full of sprinkles and cookies. She has incredible recipes (that always work) and her photography is incredible.
Princess Anna: I love Princess Anna because she is someone whose lived such a sheltered life but is open to new experiences and new adventures. She does her best to remain positive and does whatever she can to connect to her sister. She just wants to live life to it’s fullest and experience all of life’s joys and that is why I love her. To clarify further, my actual favorite Disney Princess is Tiana because she’s a #girlboss.
Caroline Vazzana: Caroline is one of my best friends and I wanted to include her on here because she is an incredible woman. We met while studying abroad together in Paris and we started talking about magazines and kind of fell into our friendship. Caroline always has the best advice to give and knows exactly what to say. I have no clue where I would be without her, she is how I realized that I wanted to work at a magazine and I am forever grateful to have her in my life.
Giada De Laurentiis: Meeting Giada was one of the biggest moment in my life. It was a serious turning point for me. She was doing a cooking demo at the Food and Wine show and asked for some help from an audience member and she chose me. I had only been in culinary school for a few weeks and there I was cooking on stage with my culinary idol in front of 300 people. Giada has always inspired me, I love her style of cooking and her presence on TV. She was so nice to me and took the time to speak with me after the demo and gave me some awesome advice.
Christen Dominque: This girl is so freaking awesome! When I met her at GenBeauty, she was so sweet and it felt like I was talking to an old friend, we dove right into a chat about beauty and blue eye makeup. Christen is one of Forbes’s Top 10 Beauty Influencers. So that makes it extra special to me. She created a career out of her passion and that’s why she’s on my list.
Mia Stammer: Mia is kooky and crazy, to be honest it’s hard to not love her. I also met Mia at GenBeauty and I will be seeing her again at BeautyCon. She is not afraid to be her true authentic self online and off and that’s why she inspires me so much.
Karen Yeung or IAMKARENO : She is where my obsession of beauty Youtube came from. She was the first beauty influencer I was introduced to via Ipsy and then I fell into the hole of beauty Youtube. Karen has the coolest style ever and her tutorials are fab and easy to follow, she’s who taught me how to really properly do my makeup (brushes and everything).
Chewbacca: Fictional characters are important to me as well. When I was young, my dad and I spent a lot of time watching movies together. I have so many fond memories of my dad and I sitting on the couch watching Star Wars and Austin Powers. He gave me the nickname, “ChewBECCA” and it’s sort of stuck.
My friends: This shot happens to be me at culinary school in the lab. We had some extra pie dough, which our Chef allowed us to turn it into whatever we wanted, so my friends and I got creative and started to create cookies. I feel so lucky that I am surrounded by so many creative people and people who encourage me to use my creativity. Here are a few more faces, I wish I could fit on my wall right now.
