I have a big confession to make and I’m super embarrassed to admit this on the internet but here it goes, I’ve never been in a relationship. I’ve been single my whole life, so I’ve learned to cope with being alone on Valentine’s Day. For those of you who are celebrating Valentine’s Day alone or just want to treat yourself, here are some of my favorite ways to practice self-care doing Valentine’s Day or really any day.**
- Treat Valentine’s Day like a spa day! There’s nothing better then taking a long bath or shower and just cleansing yourself and your skin. Make a stop at Lush and pick up your favorite bath bomb! Besides taking a long bath or shower, I like to go all out with skincare(and I mean ALL OUT). My absolute favorite way to pamper myself is through a face mask. I’m currently using the Derma-E Charcoal Mask and it’s done a great job of cleaning out my skin and shrinking my pores( I’m in serious need of both TBH). I’ve also taken to using the Derma-E Detox Scrub which has become one of my most-used products.
2. Another way to treat yourself and probably my favorite way is to practice self-care is to enjoy some luxury candy. I’m not talking about celebrating with a Hershey Bar, I’m taking about Champagne truffles, champagne gummy bears or a unique flavored candy-bar. I am currently loving these Champagne truffles, plus the pink ones match my blog! They make me feel extremely fancy and I love it. I recommend checking out a unique documentary to watch like Killer Legends(Some Urban Legend stuff), Planet Earth (because cute animals) and of course, Chef’s Table (The French version is cooler).Enjoy your candy while watching Netflix(these are all on there).
3. On Valentine’s Day, I love to unplug because there is nothing I hate more then people on the internet bragging about how in love they are, when I’m sitting home alone. I am by no means saying don’t post about S.O. , what I’m saying do it strategically but, not obnoxiously. To escape from all of this, I like to sit down with a good book. As many of you know, I’m currently participating in The PopSugar Reading Challenge. The book I’ll likely be reading isn’t added onto my list yet and that is The Princess Diarist by the late Carrie Fisher. This is basically the diary she kept while filming Star Wars.
What’s your favorite way to practice self-care?
